History
A small family business
In the early 1970`s Alan Bainbridge bought a site that had been a nursery during the second world war. Now falling to rack and ruin. Alan worked to rebuild the site to a working nursery with his wife Caroline and plenty of help from family and friends.
Van Sales
Alan started a van sales round selling wholesale cut flowers and pot plants that had been grown on his nursery. All the local florists knew Alan.
Branch out into Retail
In the mid 1980`s with wholesale customers dwindling Alan decided to start selling direct to the customer himself. The first Bainbridge plant stall began in Chichester and is still one of our busiest pitches to this day.
